Patrick is the Associate Director in the Political and Social Research team and YouGov's spokesman on political research. He is responsible for election modelling and forecasting across YouGov's European markets, and leads on research and development for survey methods, data analysis, and political segmentation and MRP products. Sarah is Head of Futures at the market research company Ipsos MORI. She will talk to us about their forecasting practices across the public and private sector, including through scenario planning, horizon scanning, and large-scale public consultation projects that position their forecasts in a broader, public discussion about the future. Sarah will also talk about Ipsos Global Trends, a triennial survey across 23 countries which covers a broad range of attitudes, behaviours and beliefs across the world of business, brands and governments.

She has a background in clinical neuroscience (PhD, UCL) and now leads a team of data scientists and engineers building data science and AI products for KPMG’s global client-base. Yafeng is a data scientist at KPMG, with a background in statistics and machine learning. They will be talking to us about ‘Time series forecasting in professional services: Multiple approaches and constraints’.
